The activity starts at the Puesto Cagliero refuge, where you’ll have breakfast with the guide who will inform you about the day plan. Once ready, you will leave towards the 30° Aniversario mount.

You’ll start walking with amazing views of the Cagliero glacier (for 2hrs approximately, it is of moderate difficulty). Once at the via ferrata, the guide will set you up with the security gear to start a technical ascent on the 30 Aniversario mount, where you’ll enjoy the view of mountain tops and glaciers nearby.

The hike continues towards south with a medium altitude, around noon you’ll arrive at the Portal de los Hielos. This is the highest point of the hike, with a unique view of the Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre mount, the ice field Campo de Hielo Sur, the Marconi mountain chain and more iconic mounts of the area. If the weather conditions are good, you will enjoy lunch at this point.

Once finishing the lunch and having enjoyed the amazing views of the área, we’ll start to go down to Laguna de los 14 and then to Eléctrico lake that always allows to get great photos.

The last part runs without so much elevation and follows the shape of the Eléctrico river until reaching Piedra del Fraile refuge where the staff will wait for us with a warm and confortable place to eat and to sleep.
