If you want to do something different, out of the traditional circuits and hike staying overnight in the mountain without a guide, this tour is for you. 3 days in the mountains that will show you most of the elements that make Patagonia unique.
ITINERARY
DAY 1:
(You will be picked up at your hotel and taken to the bridge of Rio Eléctrico where the first trekking begins. From there, along a hike of 7km approx through ancient forests, rivers and streams, you’ll reach Piedra del Fraile. Once arrived, having settled in the room and getting to know the place, lunch is served. The staff will show you all the self-guided activities you can do during the afternoon so that you can choose the best option and get into the valley. At night, full dinner is served inside the warm shelter, where you can rest and compose energy for the next day.
DAY 2:
After having breakfast in the morning, with the help of the local staff, a zip line is crossed over the Rio Eléctrico. From there, the path begins to the other refuge, of medium difficulty, where you will see lagoons with unique views of different iconic peaks in the area and where you should choose a nice place to eat the food provided. After lunch, the road continues to reach Puesto Cagliero refuge. There, after a warm welcome drink and overlooking the Cagliero Glacier, you can enjoy a hot shower and a unique dinner before resting.
DAY 3:
The day starts with a nutritious breakfast and beautiful views to appreciate. Then, the last trek begins, descending through the Rio Diablo valley (about 2 hours) until we reach the base of the Ea. Los Huemules. There, a transfer will pick you up and take you back to El Chaltén.
